In the world of fashion, the next best thing is always right around the corner. And last week, designers at Bridal Fashion Week proved how true that is by showcasing their stunning looks for Fall 2020. It was a week of gorgeous gowns, innovative design, and A LOT of white fabric.

The coming season’s gowns are unique, edgy, and unquestionably beautiful, so we know that any bride will be happy to wear them down the aisle. However, here are a few of our favorite looks — we think they’re going to knock you off your feet!

Tiered Skirts

In Fall 2020, bridal fashion will be all about the details. Many of the looks we saw on the runways were covered with intricate, delicate little features: glittery beading, flowing trains, and more than a few ruffles.

Designers like Viktor and Rolf (pictured above), Enaura, and Theia added ruffles along their ballgown-style skirts, creating a tiered look that’s both totally original and completely cute. This look is the high-fashion version of a prairie dress, making a perfect choice for boho brides!

Cowl Necks

Today’s weddings don’t always carry the pomp-and-circumstance of ceremonies gone by. In fact, many couples opt for casual affairs, where they can relax with their friends and simply have a good time.

Designer Danelle Frankel used this “laid-back bride” as inspiration for her Fall 2020 collection, which included relaxed-fit trousers, bridal trench coats, and cowl necked gowns (like you see here). Of course, this casual, yet cool vibe was a hit, and several other designers like Savannah Miller and Romona Keveza also featured cowl necks in their collections.

Dusty Rose

Dusty shades of pink have been part of many a couple’s wedding palettes for the past several years. Similarly, the idea of wearing a colored gown down the aisle has long been popular among non-traditional brides. So it was only natural that these two concepts would come together — but we had no idea how fabulous it would be!

Monique Lhuillier’s dusty rose ball gown (pictured above) is simply breathtaking. It’s romantic, feminine, like something out of a storybook — exactly what many brides look for in that perfect dress. And with other designers like Sahroo and Ines di Santo incorporating this color into their collections, we think that dusty pink is here to stay.

“Statement” Dresses

Our final bridal trend comes from the queen of wedding dresses herself: Vera Wang. Her Fall 2020 collection was a bold display of unexpected design (hello bubble skirts and menswear-inspired tails) and edgy details.

Our favorite element of Wang’s collection? The bold gothic lettering embroidered on the back of many of her gowns. With phrases like “I do” and words like “love” and “forever” stitched onto the train, these gowns left no question about what the look was all about.

And if this idea seems familiar to you, it’s because the trend is already getting picked up by celebs; Hailey Bieber sported a veil embroidered with “Till Death Do Us Part” earlier this week!

Bridal fashion week showed us a variety of looks for a girl’s big day. Some were edgy and avant-garde, others were timeless and traditional. But one thing is certain: every look was gorgeous and sure to make you feel like a princess as you walk down the aisle!
